10 A rebuke impresses a discerning person
more than a hundred lashes a fool.

The righteous vets a reprimand
while the fool requires physical pain.
I have experienced both
and I much prefer a rebuke.
Forgive And Forget
Whoever would foster love
covers over an offense,
but whoever repeats the matter
separates close friends.
Forgiving covers a the matter.
Forgetting is mandatory.
A Bribe Is Evil
8 A bribe is seen as a charm by the one who gives it;
they think success will come at every turn.
A bribe is a moral and criminal offense
that always spawns evil.
Fluency And Lies
7 Eloquent lips are unsuited to a godless fool;
how much worse lying lips to a ruler!

Fluency is incompatible with fools.
Lies are even worse for rulers.
Crown Of The Elderly
6 Children’s children are a crown to the aged,
and parents are the pride of their children.
Children enjoy their parents.
Grandparents enjoy their grandchildren.
