Curses, Undeserved And Deserved 26:2

Curses, Undeserved And Deserved
Proverbs 26:2

Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow,
an undeserved curse does not come to rest.

PCdc Commentary

Occasionally, on Coast To Coast AM radio,
someone will call who is worried about being cursed.
An undeserved curse can never land.
But what about our deserved curses?

Jesus bore our sins, and the curses they spawned.

Unfit For A Fool 26:1

Unfit For A Fool
Proverbs 26:1

Like snow in summer or rain in harvest,
honor is not fitting for a fool.

PCdc Commentary

Snow in summer can be refreshing,
but it is anachronistic.
Rain in harvest can be a disaster,
as well as anachronistic.
Honoring a fool is flat out foolish,
and, of course, anachronistic.

Smartening Up A Chump 26:5

Smartening Up A Chump
Proverbs 26:5

Answer a fool according to his folly,
or he will be wise in his own eyes.

PCdc Commentary

You can’t cheat an honest man;
never give a sucker an even break, or smarten up a chump.
W.C. Fields, 1939, You Can’t Cheat an Honest Man

The scriptural thing to do, however, IS to smarten up that chump.
Otherwise, in his ignorance, he will continue believing that he is wise.
