The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

When the book of Proverb speaks of fools,
it is referring to the spiritually foolish.
Fools despise the things of God
and condemn themselves to their own ignorance.
What Good Are Proverbs?

for gaining wisdom and instruction;
for understanding words of insight;

for receiving instruction in prudent behavior,
doing what is right and just and fair;

for giving prudence to those who are simple,
knowledge and discretion to the young

let the wise listen and add to their learning,

King Solomon is undoubtedly one of the wisest people ever born.
If you doubt it, read the Old Covenant book of Proverbs.
Then, make a list of others that can compete with his wisdom.
It would be, at best, a very short list.
The more you read King Solomon’s Proverbs, the wiser you become.

If they say, “Come along with us;
let’s lie in wait for innocent blood,
let’s ambush some harmless soul;

let’s swallow them alive, like the grave,
and whole, like those who go down to the pit;

we will get all sorts of valuable things

cast lots with us;

There is a culture, in certain communities, of accepting gangs and gang members.
All manner of excuses are used for their violent, criminal behavior.
Do not even associate with them because they are quick to shed innocent blood.
