A Youth Who Has No Sense
Proverbs 7:6-9

At the window of my house
I looked down through the lattice.

I saw among the simple,
I noticed among the young men,
a youth who had no sense.

He was going down the street near her corner,
walking along in the direction of her house

at twilight, as the day was fading,
as the dark of night set in.

Avoid the prostitute, Senseless Youth.

Obviously you are not listening because
you are going down the street near her corner.
Walking along in the direction of her house.

Someone is in for a shocking surprise.

You Sluggard
Proverbs 6:6-8

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!

It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,

yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

The ant works because there is work to do.

Honey and Oil, Gall And Sword
Proverbs 5:3-4

For the lips of the adulterous woman drip honey,
and her speech is smoother than oil;

but in the end she is bitter as gall,
sharp as a double-edged sword.

The adulteress promises honey and oil.
But she delivers bitterness and death.

Obey Your Father And Live
Proverbs 4:3-4

For I too was a son to my father,
still tender, and cherished by my mother.

Then he taught me, and he said to me,
“Take hold of my words with all your heart;
keep my commands, and you will live.”

Mention Ozzie and Harriet,
and you are laughed out of the room.
Maybe O&H never existed,
but it remains a decent and attainable lifestyle.

If you do not have a father,
or if your father has failed you,
your Heavenly Father
reaches out to embrace you.

God’s Dynamic Duo
Proverbs 3:3-4

Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.

Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.

Love and Faithfulness are a dynamic pair.
Faithfulness strengthens Love.
Love strengthens Faithfulness.

While Love is not a prerequisite for marriage,
Faithfulness is.
